Following a night of intense strikes against Ukrainian cities, as reported on President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s official Telegram channel, the Ukrainian leader issued a sharp call to international partners to expedite military aid. The Kremlin continues its strategy of targeting residential areas, turning peaceful cities into battlefields. The recent tragedy in Odesa, where a missile strike on an apartment building resulted in casualties including children, underscores the human cost of delays in air defense support.
“Each defense package is not just a statistic, but a concrete instrument that protects lives in Ukraine every day,” Zelenskyy stated. The scale of the assault was massive, involving 130 drones and 7 missiles, with local infrastructure—including libraries and residential blocks—suffering severe damage across the Sumy, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, and Chernihiv regions. Russian forces also utilized 15 guided aerial bombs (KABs) against the Sumy region, further escalating the severity of attacks on civilian centers.
The President emphasized that efficiency in negotiations and logistics is vital to preventing further loss of life. While Ukrainian air defense units successfully intercepted a significant portion of the incoming threats, the continuous saturation of the airspace by Russian weapons makes the replenishment of interceptors and radar systems a top priority.
