President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced a significant scaling of the direct financing program for Ukrainian combat units, as reported on his official Telegram channel. Starting in July, Ukrainian Armed Forces units will receive expanded financial and personnel support to bolster their defensive and offensive capabilities.
During a briefing with Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Pavlo Palysa, the President confirmed that the direct financing model, initiated last year, has proven successful in accelerating the procurement of drones and other essential equipment. Under the new directive from the Supreme Commander-in-Chief’s Staff, funding levels per battalion will be increased. Furthermore, specific allocations have been introduced for artillery units operating in combat zones and corps-level units tasked with critical missions.
In addition to financial upgrades, the government is continuing its program for the guaranteed monthly distribution of personnel, which has been in effect since December 2025. This initiative provides commanders with greater predictability and improved resources to independently organize troop training. The President emphasized that this shift is essential for operational stability in the face of ongoing hostilities.
The discussions also highlighted the urgent need for enhanced air defense capabilities. Zelenskyy stated that securing additional missiles and air defense systems remains the top priority in international diplomacy. He stressed the importance of coordinated efforts between Ukrainian diplomats and military officials from the United States and European nations to protect Ukrainian airspace.
This strategic move coincides with the implementation of a new military reform package, which includes increased salary scales. Soldiers stationed in the rear are set to receive a minimum of 30,000 UAH, while troops on the front line are expected to receive average payments of 300,000 UAH. These measures, alongside new military contract models, reflect Ukraine’s commitment to professionalizing its armed forces, ensuring that those defending the nation receive the necessary resources and financial recognition for their service as the conflict intensifies.
