War Continues: Zelenskyy Rules Out Immediate Ceasefire Amid Escalation

Hostilities on the front line demonstrate that a ceasefire is not expected in the near future. This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during his nightly video address on Monday. According to the President, daily combat continues with no signs of de-escalation from Moscow, leaving Ukraine with no choice but to prepare for further attacks.

“There was no silence on the front today. We see that Russia does not intend to end this war,” Zelenskyy noted. He emphasized that while the international community remains committed to protecting Ukraine’s independence, the Kremlin shows zero readiness for a genuine peace process. Despite various diplomatic channels, the Russian leadership prefers to focus on military pressure rather than negotiation.

Zelenskyy pointed out that the full-scale invasion has accelerated global changes in military technology, particularly regarding drone warfare. Ukraine is currently coordinating with approximately 20 countries to develop advanced UAV systems and secure supply contracts. A new cooperation agreement regarding drone technology is also being drafted with Canada, marking a significant step in strengthening Ukraine’s defense capabilities through international partnerships.

While the attention of major global players, including the United States, is currently divided by the conflict in the Middle East, the President stressed that support for Ukraine remains a persistent priority. Ukraine is working closely with its allies to increase the production of air defense systems and ammunition to repel persistent missile threats.

Regarding the possibility of a direct meeting with Vladimir Putin, the President reaffirmed that he has long been prepared for such a summit, provided there is a clear and meaningful format. However, as of now, the Russian side continues to avoid constructive dialogue, focusing instead on territorial aggression. Ukraine’s current strategy remains clear: defending its sovereignty, accelerating technological advancements, and maintaining strong coalitions with partners who recognize the global threat posed by the ongoing war in Europe. The path to peace, as emphasized by Kyiv, must be based on security for its people and the restoration of territorial integrity.
