Ukrainian Forces Successfully Target Multiple Russian Radar Stations and Air Defense Systems

The Ukrainian Defense Forces continue their systematic campaign to dismantle Russia’s air defense and surveillance networks, successfully striking three major radar stations and an anti-aircraft missile system. The official report from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on April 14 confirms a series of highly coordinated attacks aimed at blinding the Russian military’s airspace control.

These strikes target critical infrastructure that provides the Russian army with vital early warning and tracking capabilities. Among the most significant hits was the “Nebo-U” radar station, located in temporarily occupied Feodosia within the Crimean Peninsula. The “Nebo-U” is an advanced, long-range 3D radar system designed to detect high-altitude aircraft and missiles. Neutralizing this asset significantly degrades the occupying forces’ ability to monitor the skies over Crimea and the Black Sea, effectively creating a substantial blind spot in their defensive perimeter.

The offensive operations also extended deep into Russian territory. On April 13, Ukrainian forces executed precise strikes against two strategic targets in the Belgorod region of the Russian Federation. The first target was an airspace control radar station near the settlement of Nikolaevka. The second was a specialized “Kasta-2E” radar system positioned near Lubyanoye-Pervoye. The “Kasta-2E” is highly valued for its ability to detect low-flying targets, such as stealthy drones and cruise missiles. By knocking out these systems, Ukraine has severely compromised Russia’s border air defenses, paving the way for future aerial operations.

In addition to radar installations, the General Staff confirmed the successful targeting of a “Tor-M1” anti-aircraft missile system near the temporarily occupied village of Lozove in the Luhansk region. The “Tor-M1” is a short-range surface-to-air system primarily used by Russia to protect its frontline combat formations. Its destruction leaves Russian infantry and mechanized units more vulnerable to Ukrainian tactical aviation and strike drones. The exact scale of the damage inflicted on all these facilities is currently being assessed through post-strike reconnaissance.

Furthermore, Ukrainian frontline units continue to dismantle heavy Russian weaponry. In the Kharkiv region, near the village of Dvorichna, soldiers from the 129th Separate Heavy Mechanized Brigade of the Ground Forces successfully struck a “Solntsepek” heavy flamethrower system. This devastating thermobaric weapon is considered a high-priority target due to its immense destructive power against entrenched infantry. The steady elimination of both high-tech radar arrays and heavy assault systems underscores the growing operational capabilities of the Ukrainian military in steadily degrading Russia’s combat effectiveness.
