Ukrainian forces have successfully neutralized a Russian drone operator training facility in the occupied city of Snizhne, according to an official report by the commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces, Robert “Magyar” Brovdi. The precision strike, carried out in coordination with the SBU, resulted in the elimination of 65 enemy personnel along with a significant stockpile of UAVs and ammunition.
The training center was established by the 78th Special Forces Regiment of the Akhmat-North division. On the night of May 20, Ukrainian units utilized 11 precision strike assets, each equipped with a 100kg warhead, to target the two-story building. The presence of stored ammunition in the basement caused a massive secondary explosion that effectively wiped out the facility.
Commander Brovdi confirmed the death of 65 cadets, including the center’s chief, a man with the callsign “Buryi” who was also a doctor at the Russian Academy of Rocket and Artillery Sciences. Casualty numbers are still being clarified via local hospitals. Magyar noted that this was one of three such training centers the Russian military had established in occupied territories, implying that the others remain high-priority targets for future operations.
This strike highlights the growing sophistication of Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces in identifying and destroying critical military infrastructure far behind the front lines. By systematically dismantling Russian training facilities, Ukrainian forces are actively degrading the enemy’s long-term capabilities in drone warfare.
