According to Suspilne, new details have emerged regarding the tragic death of a three-year-old boy in Kharkiv’s Saltivskyi district, who fell from a fifth-floor window. Yuri Papusha, head of the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, reported that the child’s mother was at home when the incident occurred but was physically incapacitated at the time.
The woman, who is currently 33 weeks pregnant, was in the bathroom due to a severe case of food poisoning. At the time of the fall, her younger sister and the child’s older brother were also inside the apartment. According to the mother, all windows had been closed. She was alerted to the tragedy only when her sister told her the child had fallen. Rushing outside, she found her son unresponsive.
Investigations revealed that the family had no prior history with social services or the police. The mother had no criminal record and was not under the care of psychiatric or addiction specialists. Currently, law enforcement authorities have initiated a criminal investigation under the classification of “premeditated murder” with an “accident” tag, which is standard procedure for such cases to ensure a thorough investigation.
