In a disturbing incident reflecting local tensions surrounding military mobilization, a group of teenagers physically assaulted military personnel from the Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center (TCC and SP) in Lutsk. The confrontation occurred while the officers were conducting routine document checks. The Volyn Regional TCC and SP officially reported the unprecedented altercation, stressing that such actions will face severe legal consequences.
The incident unfolded on the afternoon of April 11, at approximately 15:10, directly behind the Administrative Services Center (CNAP) building. According to military officials, a patrol stopped two conscript-age men to verify their military registration documents. The process began smoothly, as the first individual promptly presented valid paperwork confirming his legal deferment from military service.
However, the situation rapidly escalated with the second man. Refusing to comply with the lawful demand to produce his identification and military records, he actively avoided communication. Moments later, the individual attempted to flee the scene, sprinting toward Lesya Ukrainka Street to escape the patrol.
As officers moved to intercept the fleeing man, an aggressive group of minors suddenly intervened. The teenagers rushed the military patrol, deliberately obstructing their official duties. The situation quickly devolved into violence, with the minors resorting to physical force and landing blows on the recruitment officers. The patrol members were compelled to respond swiftly to neutralize the threat, halt the assault, and restore public order.
Despite the chaotic intervention, the evasion attempt was entirely thwarted. Authorities identified the man the teenagers tried to protect as a resident of Vinnytsia. He is officially classified as fit for active military duty and is subject to the current mobilization drive. Following the scuffle, he was escorted to the local TCC and SP to update his military records and undergo a mandatory military medical commission (VVK).
Law enforcement agencies have launched an active investigation into the assault and are currently searching for the minors involved. The Volyn TCC issued a stern warning to the public, emphasizing that obstructing the lawful activities of the Armed Forces—especially through physical aggression—constitutes a gross violation of Ukrainian law.
“Regardless of age, such actions will not be left without a proper legal assessment and will entail criminal liability as stipulated by the legislation of Ukraine,” the TCC statement read. Military officials continue to remind citizens that any form of physical or psychological pressure against service members, many of whom are frontline veterans recovering from injuries, is strictly unacceptable and will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
