On the night of July 16, 2026, the Defense Forces of Ukraine launched a series of high-precision strikes targeting key military and economic assets of the Russian Federation. According to official reports from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the operation focused on disabling infrastructure that supports Russian military operations.
The most significant achievement was the neutralization of six tankers and two tugs operating in the Black and Azov Seas. These vessels were vital components of Russia’s ‘shadow fleet,’ used to bypass international sanctions by transporting oil, while simultaneously providing fuel supplies for the Russian army.
