The Defense Forces of Ukraine have successfully executed a series of strategic strikes against Russian military targets, extending their reach far beyond the occupied frontline territories. As reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, one of the most significant operations involved the targeting of a Grachonok-class anti-sabotage boat in the Caspian Sea, located in the Russian Republic of Dagestan. This operation highlights the increasing vulnerability of Russian rear logistics and naval infrastructure, which were previously considered safe zones.
Beyond the naval strike, Ukrainian forces conducted a coordinated wave of attacks against Russian UAV command posts. Key sites in the Donetsk, Kharkiv, and Zaporizhzhia regions were targeted, as well as locations in the Bryansk region of Russia. The systematic destruction of drone control centers is a strategic priority, as these assets are crucial for Russia’s aerial surveillance and offensive operations against Ukrainian positions.
Operations also focused on logistical and communication nodes. In occupied Crimea, a communication hub in Mirny was neutralized, while a Tor-M2 surface-to-air missile system was destroyed in the occupied Luhansk region. Furthermore, a fuel and lubricant supply train was struck in Fedorivka, disrupting the enemy’s combat sustainability. These actions occur alongside ongoing successes in identifying and countering Russian espionage networks and sabotage attempts within Ukraine.
Previously, on May 16, a daring operation at the Yeysk airfield in Russia resulted in the destruction of a Ka-27 helicopter and a Be-200 patrol aircraft, demonstrating the high precision of Ukrainian long-range strikes. These continuous operations significantly undermine Moscow’s offensive capabilities. As the intensity of the fighting remains at critical levels, such precise strikes serve as a vital component of Ukraine’s defense strategy, forcing Russia to divert resources and constantly reassess the security of its deep-rear infrastructure. The scale of these attacks indicates a shift in the operational landscape, where no location occupied or operated by Russian forces is immune to Ukrainian precision fire.
