As of May 6, the situation on the front line remains extremely volatile. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 120 combat engagements were recorded over the past 24 hours. Russian occupation forces continue to exert significant pressure on Ukrainian positions, employing a combination of aviation, heavy infantry assaults, and swarms of kamikaze drones.

The most intense hostilities are concentrated on the Pokrovsk axis, where the enemy launched 25 attempts to breach Ukrainian defenses. The occupiers are relentlessly pushing toward Pokrovsk, Hryshyne, and Novoleksandrivka. Ukrainian defenders are effectively countering these assaults, inflicting substantial losses on enemy personnel and equipment. This level of intensity underscores the critical nature of the current stage of the conflict, as the Russian military attempts to utilize its numerical advantage to gain tactical breakthroughs.

Throughout the day, the enemy launched 47 airstrikes, dropping 173 guided aerial bombs (KABs). In addition to the air strikes, Russian forces utilized over 5,600 kamikaze drones and conducted 1,862 shelling attacks against frontline settlements and Ukrainian defensive positions. This “scorched earth” tactic is aimed at depleting Ukrainian military resources and suppressing resistance. Meanwhile, on the Lyman and South-Slobodskyi directions, the enemy persists with offensive maneuvers, though Ukrainian units remain firmly in their defensive positions despite the overwhelming pressure.

The human and material cost for the aggressor remains high. On the Pokrovsk direction alone, 42 invaders were neutralized, and 25 were wounded. Additionally, several units of armored vehicles and drone control points were destroyed. The Ukrainian strategy continues to focus on degrading the enemy’s offensive potential through precise counter-battery fire and targeted strikes against logistical hubs. Despite the relentless onslaught, the resilience of the Ukrainian forces remains the primary factor preventing further advancement by the occupation troops. As the situation evolves, the coordination between infantry units and technological assets continues to be the bedrock of the Ukrainian defense strategy, maintaining stability even amidst the most challenging combat conditions.
