Ukrainian intelligence has obtained evidence that Russia is preparing a new series of large-scale missile and drone strikes. As reported by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy via his official Telegram channel following a security meeting on May 15, the invaders are targeting nearly two dozen political and military sites in an attempt to intimidate the country.
President Zelenskyy emphasized that Russia’s attempts to target ‘decision-making centers’ reflect a fundamental misunderstanding of the Ukrainian spirit. Unlike Russia, which is governed by a singular, isolated dictator and his inner circle, Ukraine’s resilience is rooted in the will of its people to fight for sovereignty. ‘The people cannot be defeated. Russia should end its war and seek a dignified peace rather than looking for new ways to threaten Ukraine,’ the President stated.
The meeting also addressed the expansion of Ukraine’s long-range strike capabilities. Kiev maintains a firm policy of reciprocal action: for every strike that takes Ukrainian lives, the aggressor suffers consequences. This is evidenced by the systematic targeting of the Russian oil industry, military production facilities, and war criminals. These actions demonstrate that Ukraine possesses a powerful system of ‘long-range sanctions’ that hit the enemy where it hurts most.
Despite the constant threat of escalation, Ukrainian authorities remain focused on national defense and neutralizing threats before they manifest. As the situation remains tense, the message from Kiev is clear: Ukraine will not be deterred by terror and will continue its path toward restoring its sovereign borders and ensuring safety for its citizens.
