Russian occupation forces continue their systematic campaign against civilian infrastructure, with medical facilities becoming a primary target. According to the Kherson Regional Military Administration, on July 24, the Russian army launched an artillery strike on a hospital in the village of Bilozerka. Two nurses, aged 51 and 56, were wounded in the attack, suffering from blast injuries, concussions, and traumatic brain injuries. Both victims are currently undergoing outpatient treatment.
This attack on a medical facility is a blatant violation of international humanitarian law. Targeting hospitals is a hallmark of the Russian military strategy, designed to spread terror among the civilian population and paralyze local essential services. The persistent aggression in the Kherson region reflects the broader scale of the conflict, where indiscriminate strikes continue to claim innocent lives.
In a separate incident on the same day, a 60-year-old man was severely wounded in the Korabelny district of Kherson. Russian forces deployed a combat drone to strike a civilian area, leaving the victim with shrapnel wounds to his head, neck, torso, and limbs. The victim was immediately transported to a hospital for emergency surgery.
These incidents are not isolated; they represent a persistent pattern of violence. From guided aerial bombs (KABs) to kamikaze drones, Russian troops are using a wide range of weapons to hit residential buildings, public transportation, and social infrastructure. The constant threat forces local residents to live under high stress, never knowing when the next shell will land. As Ukraine continues to defend its sovereign territory, it also shoulders the burden of protecting its citizens from these barbaric tactics.
