The Eighth Appeal Administrative Court has officially banned the activities of the political party “Rus,” fully sustaining the lawsuit filed by the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, according to an official statement released by the ministry. This judicial decision marks another crucial milestone in Ukraine’s ongoing efforts to dismantle pro-Russian political entities that have long served as channels for Kremlin influence. The legal proceedings were initiated based on extensive evidence gathered by Ukrainian law enforcement and security services, which confirmed that the party’s leadership engaged in actions hostile to Ukraine’s national security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
According to the case materials, the rhetoric and public statements of the party’s leadership actively supported Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine and justified the illegal occupation of Ukrainian territories. By amplifying Russian propaganda narratives, the organization functioned as an internal destabilization tool, aimed at weakening Ukrainian society from within while the nation fought for survival on the military front. The court’s ruling addresses these security threats by banning the party and ordering the seizure of all its properties, funds, and other assets, which will now be transferred to state ownership.
Legal analysts point out that the financial infrastructure of such political parties often relied on direct or indirect funding from Russian actors, making the asset confiscation a vital step in neutralizing hostile economic influence.
