Mobilization efforts in the Ukrainian capital have reached a new stage of intensity. According to Nasha Rada, the number of notification groups operated by the Territorial Centers for Recruitment and Social Support (TCAC) has increased by 40% over the last few months. This information was disclosed by Valeriy Kravchenko, acting deputy head of the Kyiv TCAC, during a parliamentary special commission meeting on May 15, 2026.

Kravchenko emphasized that the expansion of these groups is a direct response to the urgent need for mobilization. During the past year, the military structure underwent a reorganization, replacing former security companies with dedicated security and notification platoons. The current strategy involves scaling up these units to ensure consistent compliance with mobilization mandates.

This shift in visibility and presence follows months of public speculation regarding the intensity of draft-related activities in Kyiv. While officials had previously downplayed reports of increased street patrols in early spring, the current data confirms a strategic pivot. The goal, according to military officials, remains the sustainment of the armed forces’ strength during the ongoing conflict.

Analysts suggest that the increase in street notification groups is part of a broader government effort to standardize the mobilization process. While the focus remains on personnel recruitment, the state is also prioritizing technological advancements in other defense sectors to maintain a tactical edge. This includes the successful deployment of unmanned systems that have recently demonstrated their ability to conduct precision strikes against Russian aviation and strategic logistics centers.

For residents of Kyiv, this implies a heightened level of interaction with military authorities on the streets. Official statements maintain that all actions are conducted within the framework of current legislation. As the nation continues its defense, the prioritization of recruitment efforts remains a cornerstone of military strategy, ensuring that the necessary human resources are available to support ongoing operations on the front lines.
