The Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have officially initiated a service investigation following the emergence of a video depicting the physical assault of a soldier in front of his unit. The statement released on the official Facebook page of the Ukrainian Ground Forces confirmed that all necessary measures are being taken to evaluate the incident and bring those responsible to justice.
Preliminary reports have debunked claims circulating on social media that the commander of the 155th Mechanized Brigade was involved in the altercation. The Military Law Enforcement Service (VSP) identified the perpetrator as an operator of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). Following the incident, the soldier in question deserted his post. Currently, both the VSP and the National Police of Ukraine have issued a warrant for his arrest and are conducting an active search.
Command leadership has issued a firm condemnation of the behavior, stating that violence and the humiliation of human dignity have no place within the Armed Forces of Ukraine. “The Armed Forces do not tolerate actions that contradict military discipline and the rule of law. Every established fact must receive a proper legal assessment, and those responsible will be held accountable under the law,” the press service emphasized. Medical professionals have provided necessary assistance to the victim, and communication with the soldier’s family is being maintained.
This incident has become a focal point of public concern regarding internal discipline within the military. As the country remains in a state of war, the integrity and ethical conduct of military personnel are under close public and media scrutiny. Factage Ukraine analysts emphasize that transparency in investigating such cases is essential to maintaining institutional trust and morale within the ranks. While the defense forces remain focused on operations such as the systematic destruction of enemy logistics, maintaining internal order is equally critical for the cohesion of the defense efforts. The ongoing investigation aims to ensure that such violations are met with appropriate disciplinary measures.
