President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has initiated a change in the leadership of the Kyiv City Military Administration (KCMA). According to the decree published on the official website of the President’s Office, Timur Tkachenko has been relieved of his duties as the head of the administration. The dismissal was carried out in accordance with the law on the legal regime of martial law.
Timur Tkachenko took over the leadership of the capital’s administration on December 31, 2024, succeeding Serhiy Popko. Prior to his appointment as head of KCMA, Tkachenko served as a deputy minister in both the Ministry of Development of Communities and Territories and the Ministry of Strategic Industries. His departure marks the end of a tenure defined by the complex challenges of governing a major city under constant security threats.
Ruslan Oliynyk, who served as Tkachenko’s first deputy, has been appointed as the acting head of the KCMA.
