Large-Scale Strikes on Russian Air Defense, Airfields, and UAV Centers: General Staff Reveals Details

Destroyed Russian MR-10 radar station at the Kacha airfield in Crimea

On April 29, 2026, the Defense Forces of Ukraine carried out a complex and highly effective operation, striking a series of strategically important military facilities of the Russian army. The operation targeted positions both in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine and within the Kursk region of the Russian Federation. According to an official statement by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the calculated strikes were directed at key elements of enemy air defenses, logistical hubs, ammunition depots, as well as unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) command and production centers. These decisive actions are aimed at significantly weakening the offensive potential of the occupying forces and disrupting their supply chains.

One of the primary and most impactful vectors of the attack was the destruction of Russian radar and air defense systems, particularly in the temporarily occupied Crimean Peninsula. At the “Kacha” military airfield near Sevastopol, Ukrainian defenders successfully targeted the “MR-10” radar station, an air defense control point, and the “Parol-4” (1L22) ground-based radar interrogator. The elimination of these advanced technological systems effectively “blinds” Russian military aviation and air defenses in the Black Sea region. This makes the occupied peninsula significantly more vulnerable to further Ukrainian missile and drone strikes. Additionally, in the area of Tykhonivka in the Zaporizhzhia region, Ukrainian forces eliminated a Russian “Tor” surface-to-air missile system that was covering forward enemy positions.

Beyond air defense systems, the Defense Forces focused their efforts on decimating enemy military logistics and fuel infrastructure. Precision hits destroyed the “TES” oil depot in temporarily occupied Simferopol, as well as a large ammunition depot near Pervomaiske in Crimea. The destruction of these critical facilities creates a severe shortage of fuel, lubricants, and artillery shells for the Russian military grouping across the southern front.

Another critical target for the Armed Forces of Ukraine was the extensive infrastructure of Russian unmanned systems. Ukrainian troops struck drone command points in multiple regions along the front line. Specifically, the strikes hit facilities near Huliaipole, Zalizne, and Tykhonivka in the Zaporizhzhia region, as well as near Bondarivske, Komar, and the village of Zaporizhzhia in the Donetsk region. A UAV control point near the village of Tyotkino in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation was also destroyed. Furthermore, workshops used for repairing and upgrading drones in Bondarivske and Burchak were completely dismantled.

In addition to these front-line operations, Ukraine’s special services continue to conduct deep-strike missions. Recently, long-range Ukrainian drones successfully attacked two Russian military helicopters at airfields in the Voronezh region of the Russian Federation. Meanwhile, drones operated by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) delivered a powerful blow to an oil pumping station near the city of Perm, located deep inside Russian territory. This strike caused a massive fire, crippling the station and delivering a significant blow to the Russian economy and its ability to finance the ongoing war. These coordinated efforts consistently demonstrate the high efficiency of Ukrainian forces in systematically degrading the military and economic potential of the Russian Federation.
