The police of the Ternopil region have released surveillance camera footage capturing the final moments of a man who was found dead inside a Territorial Recruitment Center (TCC). As stated by the head of the regional police department, Serhiy Ziubanenko, the release of these materials aims to debunk various rumors and speculative theories circulating on social media regarding the incident.
The footage shows a 46-year-old man entering the premises with a backpack, leaving some items in the corridor, and then entering the restroom. Investigators believe a weapon may have been concealed inside the backpack, as a sound resembling a gunshot was heard shortly after he closed the door. Law enforcement officials are currently conducting a comprehensive investigation into all circumstances of the tragedy, reviewing the sequence of events from the moment the man arrived at the center to update his military registration records until the fatal incident.
Serhiy Ziubanenko urged the public to refrain from drawing premature conclusions. He emphasized that the investigation is being conducted objectively, with full cooperation from the prosecutor’s office and other relevant oversight bodies. Every moment of the man’s presence at the TCC will be meticulously reconstructed to ensure all causes and consequences of this event are fully clarified.
