The operational situation along the frontline remains extremely tense as Russian occupation forces continue their relentless assaults and heavy bombardment of Ukrainian positions. Over the past 24 hours, the Armed Forces of Ukraine recorded 120 direct combat engagements. This information was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in its morning operational update.
According to official data, as of 7:00 AM on April 12, Ukrainian defenders documented 2,299 ceasefire violations by the enemy. This staggering number included 28 ground assaults, 479 artillery shellings, and a massive deployment of unmanned aerial vehicles, specifically 747 kamikaze drones (such as Lancet and Molniya types) and 1,045 FPV drones. Notably, no missile strikes, guided aerial bombs, or Shahed-type UAV attacks were recorded during this specific morning timeframe.
However, clarifying the operational data for the previous day, the General Staff noted a severe escalation in aerial and artillery attacks. Russian troops launched 58 airstrikes, dropping 184 guided aerial bombs across various regions. Furthermore, the enemy utilized an astonishing 8,458 kamikaze drones and conducted 2,947 artillery bombardments against Ukrainian towns, villages, and military positions. This included 123 strikes from multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS). Russian aviation actively targeted areas such as Pidhavrylivka in the Dnipropetrovsk region, numerous settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region including Vozdvyzhivka, Tsvitkove, Kopani, and the city of Kherson.
The eastern front remains the epicenter of hostilities. In the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian forces successfully halted 22 Russian assault attempts near settlements like Rodynske, Myrnohrad, Udachne, and Novopavlivka. Similarly, the Kostiantynivka direction saw 21 enemy attacks near Kostiantynivka, Pleshchiivka, and Rusiv Yar. In the Lyman direction, Russian forces made nine attempts to breach Ukrainian defensive lines near Zarichne, Drobysheve, and Lyman.
Intense clashes also continued across the Kupiansk, Sloviansk, and Oleksandrivka directions, where Ukrainian defenders repelled multiple attempts by the invaders to advance. In the southern theater, seven engagements occurred in the Huliaipole direction, while in the Prydniprovskyi sector, the enemy launched three unsuccessful offensives towards the Antonivskyi bridge area.
In response to the ongoing aggression, Ukraine’s aviation, missile forces, and artillery executed precision strikes against the enemy. Over the past day, they successfully hit four concentrations of Russian personnel and military equipment, as well as two command posts. The heavy fighting continues to take a severe toll on the occupying forces, with 1,070 Russian soldiers eliminated over the past 24 hours, bringing their total estimated personnel losses to over 1.31 million since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.
