The situation on the front line remains critical, with the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reporting 233 combat engagements over the past 24 hours. Ukrainian defense forces continue to demonstrate resilience, successfully striking five concentrations of enemy personnel and targeting Russian artillery systems.
Russian forces are focusing their main efforts on the Pokrovsk sector, where 35 assaults were repelled near the town of Pokrovsk and surrounding settlements. Additionally, intense fighting is reported in the Huliaipole sector, with 29 enemy attacks recorded, and the Kostiantynivka sector, where invaders launched 27 offensive actions. Despite the high pressure, Ukrainian troops are holding their positions and effectively exhausting enemy reserves.
The human cost for the Kremlin’s ambition is staggering. According to updated figures from the General Staff, the total number of Russian military personnel neutralized since the beginning of the full-scale invasion has reached over 1.35 million. In the last day alone, the Russian army lost 910 soldiers, reflecting the intensity of the defensive operations conducted by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In the Lyman and Kupyansk sectors, Russian forces made multiple attempts to breach the front, including 13 attacks near Lyman and 7 near Kupyansk. However, these offensive attempts have been largely contained by disciplined Ukrainian artillery and infantry units. The persistence of the defense in these areas is crucial for preventing the enemy from gaining momentum or operational depth.
As the war continues, the asymmetry between Russian “meat-grinder” tactics and the precision of the Ukrainian defense becomes more apparent. Ukraine is not only defending its territory but also steadily degrading the Russian army’s combat capabilities. The consistent loss of manpower and equipment in such high volumes is forcing the Kremlin to look for new ways to maintain its war machine, which is already showing clear signs of strain. The current operational tempo proves that despite numerical superiority, Russian forces remain incapable of achieving a decisive breakthrough on the battlefield.
