Ukrainian citizens continue to increase their savings within the banking system, demonstrating significant resilience despite the ongoing full-scale invasion. According to the Deposit Guarantee Fund, as of July 1, the total amount of personal deposits in banks reached 1,749.2 billion UAH. This represents a monthly increase of 48.6 billion UAH, with a total growth of 131.5 billion UAH since the beginning of 2026.

This upward trend is a strong indicator of public confidence in the domestic banking sector. National currency deposits saw a significant rise of 39.5 billion UAH during June, totaling 1,156.9 billion UAH. Foreign currency deposits also showed growth, adding 9.2 billion UAH, which reflects a diversified approach to personal asset management among the population.

The role of independent entrepreneurs (sole proprietors) remains crucial in this financial landscape. As of July 1, their share in the total deposit structure climbed to 11.7%, with total savings reaching 204.1 billion UAH. This suggests that despite the war-time economic constraints, the small business sector continues to generate capital and maintain liquid assets.

Macro-financial stability is supported by ongoing international cooperation and effective internal policies. The National Bank of Ukraine has been actively working to simplify access to banking services, further strengthening financial inclusion for both individuals and businesses. These positive signals reflect a broader national effort to maintain economic functionality under extreme pressure. While the security situation remains volatile, the consistent growth of bank deposits provides a necessary buffer and a foundation for future post-war recovery efforts, ensuring that liquidity remains available to support essential economic activities and infrastructure development.
