The Eurovision Song Contest 2026 is scheduled to take place at the iconic Wiener Stadthalle in Vienna. The two semi-finals are set for May 12 and 14, followed by the grand final on Saturday, May 16. The stage, designed by renowned German scenographer Florian Wieder, will feature a massive LED structure shaped like a leaf, symbolizing renewal and creative freedom inspired by the Viennese Secession movement.
This year, Ukraine will be represented by the folk-jazz band LELÉKA, founded by Ukrainian singer and composer Victoria Kornikova. The band is scheduled to perform in the second half of the second semi-final. Their entry song, «Ridnym», carries a profound message of hope, inner strength, and the ability to rebuild from the ashes. In preparation for the European stage, LELÉKA recently presented a revamped version of the track, which now incorporates the authentic sounds of the bandura—a traditional Ukrainian string instrument. This addition beautifully highlights Ukraine’s rich cultural heritage and resilience.
For Ukraine, participating in Eurovision goes far beyond music; it is a vital act of cultural diplomacy. Performing on a stage watched by over 160 million viewers allows Ukrainian artists to remind the world of their nation’s unyielding spirit and vibrant identity. As the band LELÉKA gears up for their performance in Vienna, the support from both the international community and the dedicated Ukrainian broadcast team ensures that Ukraine’s voice will resonate loudly and proudly across Europe.
