Dnipropetrovsk Region Under Attack: Russian UAV Strike Hits Pavlohrad

Наслідки атаки російських дронів у Павлограді

On the night of May 6, Russian forces launched another wave of drone attacks targeting civilian infrastructure in the Dnipropetrovsk region. According to the official report by the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Hanzha, three civilians were injured in Pavlohrad following the UAV strikes. This attack marks a continuation of Russia’s systematic campaign to terrorize residential areas far from the front line.

The assault on Pavlohrad triggered multiple fires across the city. Preliminary reports confirm that over 10 private homes were damaged, along with several vehicles. A 55-year-old man and a woman were hospitalized in moderate condition, while a 43-year-old man received medical assistance and was sent for outpatient treatment. Local authorities, including regional council head Mykola Lukashuk, are currently managing the aftermath and documenting the destruction.

The region has faced nearly 30 attacks within the last 24 hours alone, involving drones, artillery, and guided aerial bombs. The Synelnykove district, specifically the Pokrovska and Dubovykivska communities, suffered significant damage as residential buildings were set ablaze. Furthermore, the Nikopol district, including the cities of Nikopol, Marhanets, and Chervonohryhorivka, remained under heavy fire, resulting in damage to critical infrastructure and abandoned buildings.

This escalation follows a broader trend of Russian aggression against the Dnipropetrovsk region, which included a ballistic missile strike on the city of Dnipro just a day prior. Analysts observe that these strikes are part of an attempt to destabilize the Ukrainian home front and divert resources from the defensive efforts on the battlefield. Despite the intensity of these strikes, the resilience of local communities remains high, supported by the ongoing efforts of emergency response teams who continue to work in dangerous conditions.

The international community continues to monitor these events, as every strike on civilian areas serves as further evidence of war crimes. Regional authorities urge citizens to remain in shelters whenever air raid sirens sound, as the threat of further ballistic and drone activity persists across the country.
