Diplomatic Marathon and Easter Truce: Zelenskyy Announces Intensified Cooperation with US and EU Partners

Ukraine is actively expanding its diplomatic presence on the global stage and strengthening its defense capabilities through continuous negotiations with key allies. Currently, official Kyiv maintains uninterrupted, high-level communication with the United States and is preparing for an intensive series of engagements with European partners in the coming weeks. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized these strategic plans during his traditional evening video address.

“Ukraine is constantly in touch with the American side at various levels, allowing us to respond to challenges swiftly and coordinate our joint actions. We are also preparing very active diplomatic work for the upcoming weeks with our European partners,” the President stated. This international effort is particularly critical now, as Ukraine seeks to secure additional air defense systems, financial aid, and military equipment necessary to repel the ongoing Russian aggression efficiently.

A significant portion of the address was dedicated to expanding Ukraine’s geopolitical influence, particularly in non-Western regions. Zelenskyy announced that Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov is scheduled to deliver a comprehensive report on Monday regarding recent negotiations and agreements reached in the Middle East, the Gulf States, and neighboring countries. The primary focus of these discussions is the export of Ukrainian defense capabilities and the sharing of modern security expertise.

“Practically all our partners unanimously perceive this as Ukraine’s success. They openly acknowledge that Ukraine is actively contributing to global security,” Zelenskyy noted. He highlighted that there is substantial, substantive interest from Asian markets regarding this defense cooperation. “We already have our first agreements in the works. This undoubtedly strengthens Ukraine’s position on the world stage as well.”

Another crucial topic of the President’s address was the discussion of a ceasefire during the upcoming Easter holidays. Zelenskyy emphasized that Easter is inherently a time for absolute security, spiritual tranquility, and peace. He stated that it would be an entirely appropriate and logical step if the ceasefire were to continue beyond the holiday period, offering citizens a much-needed respite from the horrors of war. The Ukrainian leadership has consistently advocated for humanitarian pauses, though the military remains fully prepared to respond symmetrically to any hostile provocations.

Concluding his speech, President Zelenskyy expressed profound gratitude to all international allies for their unwavering support, reinforcing his belief that collective diplomatic and military efforts will ultimately restore justice and guarantee long-term security.
