Oschadbank has officially confirmed the return of assets seized by Hungarian authorities in Budapest earlier this March, as reported by European Pravda. The assets, totaling 40 million USD, 35 million EUR, and 9 kilograms of gold, were returned to Ukraine after a two-month-long diplomatic standoff.
Bank representatives stated that the integrity of the packaging was verified, and the full amount of funds and valuables has been accounted for. Yuriy Katsion, Chairman of the Board of Oschadbank, who led the bank’s mission in Hungary, described the initial detention of the collection team and the seizure of state property as a violation of international cooperation norms.
