Denmark has announced its 30th military aid package for Ukraine, totaling approximately 4.4 billion Danish kroner (roughly €590 million), as officially confirmed by the Danish Ministry of Defense. This comprehensive support package is designed to reinforce the Ukrainian Armed Forces amid the ongoing and evolving battlefield dynamics.
A core component of this aid is the allocation of 1.3 billion kroner to the “Danish model,” a specialized funding mechanism that allows Ukraine to procure equipment directly from its own defense industry. This approach has proven highly successful in fast-tracking the acquisition of drones, artillery systems, and essential ammunition. By investing in local production, Denmark is not only providing immediate aid but also strengthening the long-term sustainability of the Ukrainian defense sector.
The package also places a strong emphasis on long-range artillery ammunition, a high-demand resource on the front lines. Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen highlighted that while the battlefield situation is shifting, it is not a signal to decrease assistance. “There is a new dynamic on the battlefield in Ukraine. This does not mean we can simply relax. On the contrary, we must maintain support for Ukraine and increase pressure on Russia to strengthen Ukraine’s negotiating position,” Rasmussen stated.
Denmark remains a cornerstone of international support for Kyiv. Since the onset of the full-scale invasion in 2022, the country has provided approximately 76.8 billion kroner in military aid. This long-standing commitment underscores Denmark’s role as a key security partner, ensuring that Ukraine has the necessary technical edge to defend its sovereignty. As the conflict continues, Danish assistance continues to be a vital factor in maintaining the operational capacity of the Ukrainian military against the Russian invasion.
