President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that he and Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen have signed a bilateral agreement on cooperation in the drone sector, officially titled the “Drone Deal.” This marks the ninth such security cooperation agreement Ukraine has finalized, solidifying a growing network of partners committed to long-term defense support.
The agreement is built upon the “Danish model,” which prioritizes direct investment in the Ukrainian defense industry. This mechanism has proven effective in scaling production while ensuring that equipment, battle-tested on the front lines, can be exported and integrated into global security frameworks. President Zelenskyy highlighted that this agreement promotes transparency in weapon exports and strengthens the strategic partnership between Kyiv and Copenhagen.
Beyond drone technology, the talks focused heavily on enhancing Ukraine’s air defense capabilities. With Russia’s ongoing ballistic missile threat, both leaders discussed the development of a unified European anti-ballistic defense system. The Ukrainian President emphasized the urgent need for additional Patriot missiles and the importance of fostering self-sufficient European defense solutions capable of neutralizing high-speed threats. By leveraging Danish financial and technical support, Ukraine continues to build a resilient military-industrial architecture that protects not only its own sovereignty but the security architecture of the entire European continent.
