On the night of June 13, Ukrainian defense forces executed a highly coordinated, multi-target operation targeting key military, logistics, and energy facilities deep inside the Russian Federation and within temporarily occupied territories. According to the official report by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the targeted strikes successfully neutralized a crucial oil facility, multiple military command posts, drone control units, and manpower concentrations.
The most economically damaging strike occurred in Kotovo, Volgograd Oblast, where an oil preparation and pumping facility was hit, resulting in a confirmed fire. This enterprise is of major strategic importance, as it collects, processes, and pumps crude oil from the Korobkovskoye field and adjacent deposits across the Volgograd and Astrakhan regions, as well as the Republic of Kalmykia. By disrupting this facility, Ukraine directly targets the financial heart of the Russian war machine, hindering its oil export capabilities and domestic fuel supply chains.
Simultaneously, the Armed Forces of Ukraine struck Russian command infrastructure and tactical capabilities. Command posts in Soledar (Donetsk region) and Verkhnya Krynytsya (Zaporizhzhia region) were neutralized. Furthermore, drone control stations—which play a critical role in Russian tactical reconnaissance and precision artillery guidance—were targeted and destroyed in several locations, including Khoromne in Russia’s Bryansk Oblast, as well as Voskresenka (Donetsk region) and Novomykolaivka (Kherson region).
Additionally, the Ukrainian military successfully struck personnel concentration areas in occupied territories and Russian border regions, including Belgorod and Bryansk oblasts. These preemptive strikes disrupt Russian rotations and weaken their ability to deploy fresh units to active combat zones. This complex deep-strike strategy highlights Ukraine’s growing capacity to conduct high-tech attrition warfare, eroding Russian military logistics and economic power from within.
