The Russian military continues its systematic targeting of Ukraine’s agricultural sector, turning vital food crops into instruments of war. According to a report by the State Emergency Service (SES) of Ukraine on July 16, Russian drones struck agricultural fields in the Lozova district of the Kharkiv region, leading to significant fires.
In the Oleksiivka community, a wheat field covering 0.7 hectares was engulfed in flames, along with patches of dry grass. Simultaneously, another field of grain crops in the Lozova community was damaged over an area of 200 square meters. The rapid response from SES personnel, local fire brigades, and farm workers was crucial in preventing the fires from spreading to larger, unharvested areas, thereby preserving a portion of the season’s yield.
