The Pokrovsk direction remains the primary focus of Russia’s offensive campaign in the Donbas region. Here, Ukrainian defenders repelled 18 assaults near Novooleksandrivka, Rodynske, Hryshyne, Kotlyne, Udachne, and Molodetske. Pokrovsk represents a critical logistics and transit hub; its seizure would allow Russian forces to threaten the entire defensive line in Donetsk Oblast and complicate Ukrainian logistics. The intensity of these assaults indicates that the Russian military leadership is willing to sustain high casualty rates to achieve even marginal territorial gains.
Simultaneously, a sharp escalation has occurred in the Huliaipole direction, where Ukrainian forces repelled 17 enemy attacks. Russian units targeted positions near Rybne, Dobropillia, Pryluky, Zaliznychne, and toward Nove Zaporizhzhia. This sudden surge in activity in the south suggests an attempt by the Russian General Staff to stretch Ukrainian reserves and prevent the redeployment of seasoned brigades to the critical eastern front.
Beyond these primary axes, fighting remains intense along other sectors of the frontline. In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian troops successfully halted 10 attempts to advance toward Lyman and Drobysheve. In the Kostiantynivka sector, 5 attacks were repulsed near Pleshchiivka and Stepanivka, while the Orikhiv direction saw 5 combat engagements near Stepnohirsk and Plavni.
This multi-vector offensive strategy places a heavy burden on Ukrainian defenders, who must continuously adapt to shifting tactical environments. However, the high number of repelled attacks without substantial Russian progress points to the resilience of Ukraine’s defensive networks. To sustain this defense, continuous supplies of artillery ammunition, air defense assets, and electronic warfare systems from international partners remain paramount.
