A sophisticated criminal network involved in the production and distribution of counterfeit batteries labeled as DURACELL has been dismantled in the Lviv region. According to an official statement by the Office of the Prosecutor General (https://t.me/pgo_gov_ua/37619), three suspects have been formally charged with orchestrating the illicit business.
Investigators established that between 2024 and 2025, the group imported over 1.4 million unmarked battery units into Ukraine. Using specialized industrial equipment, the group applied the DURACELL logo to these products, presenting them to unsuspecting consumers as authentic merchandise. Preliminary assessments indicate that the labeling of at least 119,200 batteries has caused over 5 million UAH in damages to the trademark holder. The criminal case was initiated following a formal complaint by the American company DURACELL BATTERIES BVBA.
