Russian Personnel Losses Exceed 1.35 Million: General Staff Daily Update

As of May 21, 2026, the total combat losses of Russian forces in Ukraine have reached a staggering 1,352,980 personnel, according to the official report by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Over the past 24 hours alone, Ukrainian forces eliminated 910 invaders, confirming the unsustainable attrition rate of the Russian occupation army since the full-scale invasion began.

The scale of equipment destruction remains equally unprecedented. Russia has lost 11,943 tanks, 24,591 armored combat vehicles, and 42,454 artillery systems. Perhaps most significant is the loss of 302,787 tactical-level UAVs, reflecting the intense and technologically advanced nature of the drone war currently unfolding. The effectiveness of Ukrainian Unmanned Systems Forces is evident in their tactical strikes against training facilities, which disrupt the enemy’s ability to regenerate its pilot corps.

Furthermore, the logistical strain on the Russian military is increasing, with 98,070 vehicles and fuel tankers destroyed, along with 4,207 units of special equipment. Despite the Kremlin’s efforts to mobilize resources, the consistent destruction of their primary weapons platforms—including air defense systems and cruise missiles—severely degrades their offensive capabilities. This systematic degradation is a testament to the tactical superiority of the Ukrainian defense forces. As the war persists, these figures highlight not just the numbers, but the failure of Russia’s strategic goals and the immense cost of their aggression, which continues to drain their national resources and military potential.
