Over 60 Combat Engagements Reported as Russian Forces Intensify Attacks Across Multiple Fronts

Since the beginning of the day, Russian occupation forces have launched 61 attacks on the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The enemy has significantly intensified its offensive operations across several key sectors of the frontline, attempting to breach Ukrainian defenses through persistent ground assaults. This information was detailed in the latest operational update provided by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Friday, April 10, via its official Telegram channel.

The situation remains highly volatile on the northern and eastern fronts. Ukrainian defenders recorded 10 combat engagements on the Sivershchyna-Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk axes, with four battles still ongoing at the time of the report’s publication. On the Pivdenna-Slobozhanshchyna (South-Slobozhanshchyna) direction, Russian troops carried out eight assaults targeting Ukrainian defensive lines near the settlements of Vovchansk, Kolodiazne, Starytsia, and Prylypka. In the Kupyansk sector, the enemy made two unsuccessful attempts to improve its tactical positions near Novoplatonivka. Meanwhile, on the Lyman front, Russian forces initiated four ground assaults near Nadiia, Zarichne, and Olhivka, with one firefight continuing.

The Donetsk region continues to be the epicenter of the fiercest hostilities. On the Kostiantynivka front, the invading forces conducted 12 attacks, concentrating their efforts around Kostiantynivka, Pleshchiivka, Stepanivka, Ivanopillia, and Sofiivka. An equal number of assaults—12 in total—were firmly repelled on the Pokrovsk front. In this sector, the enemy relentlessly attempted to advance near Bilytske, Rodynske, Myrnohrad, Novooleksandrivka, Udachne, Hryshyne, Filiia, and Novoserhiivka. One combat engagement is still ongoing there, highlighting the intense pressure Russian forces are applying.

Southern directions also witnessed significant enemy activity throughout the day. On the Oleksandrivka front, Russian troops launched three offensive actions near Kalynivske and Verbove. The Huliaipole axis saw Ukrainian forces successfully repel 11 enemy attacks in the vicinities of Dobropillia, Varvarivka, Huliaipilske, Staroukrainka, Charivne, and Zaliznychne. Furthermore, on the Prydniprovske front, the invaders made three unsuccessful attempts to advance toward the Antonivskyi Bridge. According to the General Staff, the enemy has not conducted any active assault operations on the Sloviansk, Kramatorsk, and Orikhiv fronts so far today.

The continuous assaults are coming at a massive cost to the Russian military. On April 9 alone, Russia suffered over 1,100 casualties, including both killed and wounded personnel. The total number of Russian military losses since the onset of the full-scale invasion is now approaching a staggering 1.4 million. Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold their ground firmly, systematically dismantling the enemy’s combat capabilities along the entire line of contact.
