In the Slobozhanskyi district of Kharkiv, law enforcement officers were forced to use their service weapons during a dangerous confrontation. As reported by the Kharkiv Regional Police, a suspect was apprehended after a knife attack on police officers and a military recruitment center (TCC) representative.
The incident began on July 21 near the central bus station on Aerospace Avenue. During a standard document check, the suspect pulled a knife, threatened the officers, and fled the scene. This encounter highlights the growing risks faced by law enforcement while performing their duties under martial law conditions.
The pursuit ended on July 23, when officers tracked down the man. Upon realizing he was being apprehended, the attacker resisted, wounding a military TCC officer and attempting to strike a policeman. Following departmental protocols, the police officer used his service firearm, wounding the suspect in the leg to neutralize the threat. Both the military officer and the suspect received immediate medical attention.
This violent episode is being investigated as a criminal offense. Authorities are currently gathering evidence and verifying the suspect’s background.
