The second stage of the Ukrainian Sport Poker Championship recently concluded, drawing over 400 participants from across the nation. This event highlighted the growing professionalism within the community, with the high-stakes ‘Super High Roller’ tournament serving as the centerpiece. Although organizers initially projected a smaller turnout, the event saw 31 entries, resulting in a prize pool exceeding 3.1 million UAH, with the winner taking home 1.25 million UAH.
Beyond the raw financial metrics, the event showcased the cultural growth of the sport. The unveiling of the new national team uniform and the lighthearted moments—such as player Mykola Serhiienko competing in a capybara costume after losing a friendly bet—demonstrated the sense of community that underpins these competitive gatherings.
