President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has issued a strong call for immediate action against the Russian Federation following the latest massive overnight strike. In his official Telegram channel, he emphasized that the 21st EU sanctions package must be adopted this week to prevent Russia from adjusting its war economy.
“Pressure on Russia must be increased. We cannot afford to lose time,” the President stated. He specifically pointed out that critical components, such as microchips and dual-use goods, continue to flow into Russia, allowing the aggressor to manufacture weapons that destroy Ukrainian cities. Zelenskyy urged international partners to block these supply chains, noting that every day of delay grants Russia a tactical advantage.
The Ukrainian leader also highlighted the significance of the new anti-ballistic missile coalition being formed with European partners. This initiative is seen as a cornerstone for enhancing the survival of Ukraine’s energy and civil infrastructure against relentless aerial assaults. “Together, we can build a truly reliable defense for Ukraine and all of Europe,” he added.
During the night of July 14, Russia launched a large-scale attack involving 10 missiles and 135 drones. While Ukrainian air defense units successfully intercepted the majority of the incoming threats, the debris caused significant damage in Kyiv, specifically within the Darnytskyi and Holosiivskyi districts. Meanwhile, in the Odesa region, Russian strikes targeted oil storage facilities, causing major fires.
As the war escalates, Ukraine continues to demand not only advanced defensive capabilities but also stricter economic isolation of the aggressor. The President concluded by thanking everyone contributing to the collective security of Europe, stressing that the path to peace lies through the complete depletion of Russia’s capacity to continue this war.
