Members of the Coalition of the Willing are preparing new commitments to bolster Ukraine’s air defense, reports Reuters. The high-level talks are set for July 13 in Paris, featuring Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy alongside more than 25 world leaders.
The central theme of the summit is the urgent need to counter Russian ballistic missiles. Allied nations recognize that Ukrainian air defense systems are currently struggling with ammunition shortages, which complicates the interception of advanced ballistic threats. Potential solutions under discussion include accelerating the delivery of interceptor missiles for Patriot systems, fast-tracking the deployment of the Franco-Italian SAMP/T air defense complexes, and fostering new European-Ukrainian industrial partnerships for defense manufacturing.
Beyond military aid, the partners intend to sharpen pressure on Moscow. Discussions will focus on tightening sanctions against the Russian «shadow fleet» and coordinating the 21st package of European Union sanctions. French President Emmanuel Macron is also expected to present joint projects aimed at expanding weapons production and military training for Ukrainian personnel.
