Law enforcement agencies have arrested four additional individuals involved in the violent confrontation that occurred on July 8 in Lviv during a routine document check. As reported by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), the group includes two Lviv residents, aged 21 and 45, and two 28-year-old soldiers, one of whom was AWOL. This event has sparked significant public discourse regarding the intersection of civil unrest and military recruitment procedures.
Investigators determined that the detainees were the primary instigators behind the mob incident, specifically blocking the official TCC vehicle and causing physical damage to the property. They are currently facing charges under Article 114-1 of the Criminal Code (obstructing the activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine) and Article 407 (unauthorized departure from a military unit).
Legal proceedings are moving rapidly. The Sykhiv District Court of Lviv has ordered the detention of 23-year-old Oleh Havrylov, suspected of assaulting police officers during the same incident. According to Suspilne, he will remain in custody for 60 days without the possibility of bail. He is charged with hooliganism involving weapons or other items for causing physical harm (Article 296) and intentional infliction of light bodily harm to law enforcement officers (Article 345).
This incident highlights a challenging environment for military recruitment officers in Western Ukraine.
