Ukraine has reached a level of production capacity for high-tech weaponry that could, in the long term, surpass Russian military capabilities. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this via his official Telegram channel following a meeting of the Staff of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief on July 3rd.
During the meeting, the focus was placed on scaling up the production of all types of drones, unmanned ground vehicles, missile programs, and electronic warfare (EW) systems. President Zelenskyy noted that the state is prepared to provide the necessary administrative and financial support to manufacturers to exert maximum pressure on Russian frontline capabilities. By prioritizing domestic production, Ukraine is effectively reducing its dependency on external supplies while enhancing its strike precision.
Zelenskyy emphasized that investments from international partners into the Ukrainian defense sector are investments in forcing Russia to end its aggression. The policy of “long-range sanctions” is being bolstered by tangible strikes on Russian infrastructure, which forces the Russian population to feel the direct consequences of the war. This strategic shift is designed to cripple Moscow’s ability to finance prolonged hostilities. The President highlighted the successful audits of current capabilities, which identified key steps to accelerate the testing and deployment of indigenous ballistics and anti-ballistic missile systems.
Furthermore, the provision of air defense systems remains the top diplomatic priority. Zelenskyy stated that the coming days will be filled with negotiations aimed at ensuring Ukraine receives the necessary defense equipment to protect its cities on a daily basis. The resilience of the Ukrainian defense industry is not only a matter of national security but a testament to the nation’s innovation under duress. By focusing on deep-strike capabilities and modern technological solutions, Ukraine is fundamentally altering the balance of power on the battlefield.
