President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has called upon the global community to intensify pressure on Vladimir Putin’s regime to end the Russian war against Ukraine, warning that the conflict must not be allowed to exceed the duration of World War II. According to his official Telegram update, the Russian leadership is driven by the same imperialist ambitions as past aggressors, showing utter contempt for human life.
The President noted that instead of honoring the memory of those who died in the Second World War, Russia marked the anniversary of the 1941 invasion with new, unjustified killings. Recent strikes across the Sumy, Zaporizhzhia, Odesa, Kherson, and Donetsk regions have claimed innocent lives, including children, and targeted civilian homes and energy infrastructure.
“Putin is guided by the same logic as previous aggressors; he dreams of a senseless, inadequate empire,” Zelenskyy stated. He emphasized that Ukraine has presented all necessary proposals for a diplomatic solution to the crisis. The goal is to bring collective international pressure to bear on Moscow until it realizes that ending the war through diplomacy is the only viable path forward. Despite recent rumors of paused negotiations and Kremlin ultimatums regarding the Donbas region, Kyiv remains firm in its stance that it will not offer territorial concessions to the aggressor.
