As the full-scale Russian invasion enters its 1574th day, the intensity of combat operations on the front lines has reached unprecedented heights. According to the official update released by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a staggering 228 combat clashes were recorded over the past 24 hours. This massive surge in operational activity indicates the Russian command’s desperate push to breach Ukrainian defense lines across multiple sectors simultaneously.
The enemy continues to rely heavily on a scorched-earth tactic, combining heavy artillery shelling, massive airstrikes, and drone swarms. In just one day, Russian forces launched two missile strikes using 74 missiles, conducted 82 airstrikes involving 226 guided aerial bombs (KABs), and deployed an astronomical 9,297 kamikaze drones. Additionally, more than 2,700 shellings of Ukrainian settlements and military positions were reported. This extreme saturation of the battlefield with unmanned aerial vehicles highlights a tactical shift, as Moscow increasingly relies on drone swarms to compensate for its limitations in precision-guided munitions.
The main focus of the enemy’s offensive remains the Pokrovsk and Lyman directions. In the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled 25 assaults near Dobropillya, Rodynske, and Hryshyne. Meanwhile, the Lyman direction witnessed 23 attempts to break through Ukrainian defenses near Yampol, Dibrova, and Zarichne. Intense fighting was also reported in the Huliaipole direction with 22 combat engagements, and in the Kharkiv region, where the enemy launched five assaults around Vovchansk and Starytsya.
Despite the intense pressure, the Armed Forces of Ukraine maintain their defensive integrity while inflicting severe attrition on the advancing forces. Over the past day, Russian casualties amounted to 1,230 personnel. Ukrainian forces also neutralized 1 tank, 5 armored vehicles, 36 artillery systems, 7 air defense systems, and over 2,000 enemy drones. This massive toll of destroyed hardware and manpower seriously undermines Russia’s long-term offensive capacity, forcing their military command to burn through reserves at an unsustainable rate to maintain the current tempo of the war.
