The intensity of combat operations along the Ukrainian frontline has reached a dangerous peak, with 193 combat clashes recorded within the last 24 hours. According to the official evening update by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Russian forces are concentrating their primary offensive efforts on the Pokrovsk and Gulyaipole directions, where a total of 55 assaults against Ukrainian defensive positions were launched.
To pave the way for its infantry, the Russian military has deployed an unprecedented volume of firepower. Over the past day, the enemy carried out 61 airstrikes, dropping 193 guided aerial bombs (KABs), and deployed an astonishing 6,186 kamikaze drones. Additionally, Russian forces launched 2,341 artillery and rocket strikes targeting Ukrainian defensive strongholds and civilian settlements. This scorched-earth tactic aims to completely dismantle fortifications before deploying assault groups.
On the Pokrovsk front, which remains the epicenter of the confrontation, Ukrainian troops repelled 30 attacks. Russian forces attempted to advance toward key settlements, including Rodynske, Novooleksandrivka, Shevchenko, and Udachne, trying to sever critical logistics routes. Ukrainian defenders held their ground, inflicting severe losses on the attackers. Preliminary reports estimate Russian casualties in this sector alone at over 60 soldiers killed or wounded, alongside the destruction of artillery systems, multiple rocket launchers (MLRS), and two drone control hubs.
Meanwhile, a significant spike in activity was recorded in the south, with 25 enemy assaults registered on the Gulyaipole front. Attacks toward Vozdvizhivka, Zaliznychne, and Myrno indicate Moscow’s attempt to stretch Ukrainian defensive lines and prevent Kiev from redeploying reserve forces to the Donbas. Intense fighting also continues in the Lyman and Kostiantynivka directions, where 14 and 12 assaults were registered, respectively.
The current dynamics on the battlefield show that while Russia maintains a quantitative advantage in aviation and loitering munitions, its strategy remains highly resource-intensive. The high attrition rate of Russian armored vehicles and personnel raises serious questions about the sustainability of this offensive campaign in the medium term, provided Ukraine continues to receive timely Western military assistance.
